Annual Giving

The Annual Fund is the backbone of charitable support to The Children’s Institute. Every year, new opportunities  - and new challenges ­ arise.

Gifts to the Annual Fund can be directed to a specific area or program.  Left unrestricted, TCI would use your gift where the need is greatest.

Matching Gifts

You can double or triple the impact of your gift by applying for a Matching Gift. Thousands of companies sponsor matching gift programs to education-related charities, like The Children’s Institute. Many will even match the contributions of retired employees and spouses of employees.

Please contact your Human Resources office to find out if your company has a Matching Gift program. If your company participates, please request the appropriate form and return it to us with your contribution.

Memorial of Tribute Gifts

You can honor or memorialize a friend or loved one by making a donation in their name to The Children’s Institute. Your gift enables TCI to provide the most comprehensive educational programs while celebrating the life or accomplishments of others.

Stock

Gifts of appreciated securities (stock) is a convenient way to invest in The Children’s Institute while gaining tax advantages. You will receive an income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift, provided you have owned the securities for more than 12 months. Most donors avoid liability for capital gains tax otherwise due on the sale of securities.

Heritage Society-(Planned Giving)

The Heritage Society honors donors who have made a commitment- from the modest to the magnificent-to The Children’s Institute through a planned gift in their will or estate plan. In addition to the tax-advantages associated with planned giving, the Heritage Society offers special recognition through events and publications. Donors receive a certificate of membership and personal invitations to special events.

Special Events

Play a round of golf or enjoy a glamorous night out with dinner and dancing. TCI special events offer an escape from the mundane, while raising vital funds for our students.

Major Gifts

Major Gifts are an essential component of any fund raising effort, raising more money at less cost to the organization than any other fundraising initiative. Invest in the future of The Children’s Institute and connect to the hopes and inspirations of children and their families.
